Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Pedro Faro kicked off to start the match. When Fernando Barros fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cancinhola's protests and gave Fernando Barros a yellow card for diving instead. After 2 played minutes Cancinhola got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Barros. Viriato Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duarte Garcia in the 8th minute of play. 0-1 became the score in the 11th minute when Duarte Garcia elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Pedro Faro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cancinhola's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Faro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viriato Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in SC Vencemal's zone, Duarte Garcia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Viriato Costa came out of the goal and Duarte Garcia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Duarte Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viriato Costa having to interfere. After 25 played minutes Cancinhola got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Barros. Pedro Faro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viriato Costa having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Pedro Faro notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of SC Vencemal's Viriato Costa. Viriato Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Pedro Faro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Cancinhola's goal looked a bit too open when Rui Santos came free, but Lúcio Resende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rui Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Resende having to interfere. After the first half Cancinhola were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rui Santos made a kick off. Lúcio Resende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Santos in the 52nd minute of play. Rui Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Resende having to interfere. SC Vencemal's Nuno Bessa got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 62nd minute Rui Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Resende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Bessa in the 65th minute of play forced Cancinhola's goalkeeper Lúcio Resende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Afonso Borba during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Vencemal's Afonso Borba got a free kick in the 67th minute. 69 minutes into the match, SC Vencemal's goalkeeper Viriato Costa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Duarte Garcia. Pedro Faro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Duarte Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cancinhola's Lúcio Resende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Bessa in the 83rd minute of play. Afonso Gonçalves charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afonso Gonçalves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lúcio Resende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After a rather tough play, Cancinhola's Fernando Barros got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Sandro Vieira, 93 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Viriato Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Faro, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. When the match was over Cancinhola could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SC Vencemal throughout the match.
