SC Albufeira's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 10th minute, Carlos Azevedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Cadriceira fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The supporters of SC Cadriceira booed when SC Albufeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Neves missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 18 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Paulo Cabral right hand side. Adelino Ferro kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. When Cláudio Simões came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the SC Albufeira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cláudio Simões couldn't finish the play. Paulo Cabral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Castro in the 34th minute of the match. SC Cadriceira's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Cláudio Simões scored to the left of an out of position Amílcar Gomes, making the score, 1-2. SC Cadriceira's Amílcar Gomes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save SC Cadriceira from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Simões during the 49th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 49th match minute, SC Albufeira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Simões to maneuver through the defense. The SC Albufeira players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Cadriceira were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Castro to make the kick off. Carlos Lima hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Carlos Azevedo scored 1-3 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Cabral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When João Castro came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the SC Cadriceira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Castro couldn't finish the play. Cláudio Simões scored 3-3 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amílcar Gomes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, SC Albufeira's Paulo Cabral got control of the ball when Carlos Azevedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. SC Albufeira's Paulo Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Castro in the 94th minute of play. Amílcar Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Simões in the 96th minute of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
