Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Afonso Luz started the match with the kick off. Pedro Pacheco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastião Campos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rui Santarém recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 8 minutes into the match, SC Mindelo's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Luz came free, but Vicente Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rui Santarém had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Pernelhas's Miguel Moniz got a free kick in the 15th minute. After 16 played minutes Pernelhas got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Setúbal. Bernardo Dias hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Pernelhas's Afonso Luz got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bernardo Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sebastião Campos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

SC Mindelo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Paulo Resende in the 53rd minute. A collision led to Pernelhas getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Afonso Luz hit a great ball. After 59 played minutes SC Mindelo got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Resende. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Mindelo! In the 69th minute, Sebastião Campos made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Pacheco. Pernelhas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Afonso Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pernelhas's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonso Luz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vicente Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rui Santarém sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Queirós having to interfere. João Castro's late challenge caught a Pernelhas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Castro helped the player get up and apologised. Gabriel Pacheco charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gabriel Pacheco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 83 played minutes SC Mindelo got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Pacheco. SC Mindelo's Vicente Queirós proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save SC Mindelo from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rui Santarém in the 99th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vicente Queirós saved SC Mindelo from getting behind. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
