Rui Guarda hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the match, Esposende FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rui Guarda came free, but Amílcar Faria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Esposende FC's Hugo Jesus slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hugo Borba. That made the score 1-0 after 21 minutes of play. After 24 minutes, Diamantino Viana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Terreiros and the Esposende FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Júlio Santarém received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Hugo Borba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Terreiros's zone, Fábio Pinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Borba came out of the goal and Fábio Pinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Fábio Pinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Borba having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Terreiros's zone, Júlio Santarém stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Borba came out of the goal and Júlio Santarém tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Fábio Pinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amílcar Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Guarda in the 64th minute of the match.
