Nuno Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaspar Matias having to interfere. Terreiros were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after SC Cornes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. João Porto took the corner. The corner ended in João Porto almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SC Cornes's Gaspar Matias did a great save. If Delfim Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in SC Cornes's zone, Rui Guarda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaspar Matias came out of the goal and Rui Guarda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rui Leite kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. The supporters of SC Cornes booed when Terreiros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 30 minutes, Nuno Sousa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Terreiros and the SC Cornes players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th match minute, Terreiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Sousa to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the match, Terreiros's goalkeeper Hugo Borba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Delfim Ferreira. In the 34th minute Américo Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaspar Matias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rui Guarda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Américo Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Terreiros's supporters rose to their feet, but Américo Nunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gaspar Matias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 48 minutes, Rui Guarda made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. SC Cornes's Gaspar Matias tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Rui Guarda made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, SC Cornes's Luís Porto got a free kick in the 55th minute. Américo Nunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When José Viegas fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Cornes's protests and gave José Viegas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th match minute, SC Cornes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Viegas to maneuver through the defense. Américo Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Delfim Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Delfim Ferreira put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Hugo Borba. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Miranda in the 71st minute of play forced Terreiros's goalkeeper Hugo Borba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th match minute, Terreiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th play minute Américo Nunes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gaspar Matias. 1-2. Delfim Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Hugo Borba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Terreiros walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
