Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fábio Faria in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Duarte Simões prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lúcio Queirós charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lúcio Queirós the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lúcio Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Vasco Assunção sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Esturaos booed when Crueis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Trindade didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Fábio Faria came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Crueis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fábio Faria couldn't finish the play. Vasco Alves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vasco Assunção in the 31st minute. After 33 played minutes Esturaos got a freekick which was hit by Sérgio Setúbal. Alexandre Resende recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Duarte Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Catarino Henriques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Catarino Henriques left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Crueis fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fábio Faria made a kick off. Duarte Simões came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Crueis's Catarino Henriques. But to his dismay, Catarino Henriques quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 57 minutes into the match, Esturaos's goalkeeper Duarte Simões had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fábio Faria. After 60 played minutes Crueis got a freekick which was hit by André Brás. Vasco Assunção took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vasco Alves. Vasco Alves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Catarino Henriques took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Duarte Simões. Fábio Faria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Duarte Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Catarino Henriques scored 1-4 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Duarte Simões, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Crueis's goalkeeper Vasco Alves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Esturaos's Duarte Simões proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Esturaos from getting a goal against them. After having played for 94 minutes, Catarino Henriques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Crueis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Catarino Henriques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Crueis's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
