Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Balanca's Emílio Matias started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. José Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Pedro Moniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, SC Chabouco's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Aleixo came free, but Nuno Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Armando Aleixo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nuno Barbosa was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Pedro Moniz came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Chabouco's Jaime Veiga. But to his dismay, Jaime Veiga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Jaime Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emílio Matias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. After 39 minutes of play, Balanca's Emílio Matias made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nuno Barbosa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Emílio Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Barbosa having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and José Baptista made a kick off. Pedro Moniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mário Anjos, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After 63 played minutes SC Chabouco got a freekick which was hit by Delfim Freitas. Nuno Barbosa was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cândido Ferro. Armando Aleixo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Nuno Barbosa made a huge save. When José Baptista came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the SC Chabouco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Baptista couldn't finish the play. Francisco Guarda charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Francisco Guarda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Chabouco booed when Balanca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Guarda didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Armando Aleixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emílio Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Barbosa having to interfere. Armando Aleixo might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nuno Barbosa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Armando Aleixo ran back to his position shaking his head. If Armando Aleixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, José Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Chabouco's supporters rose to their feet, but José Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Moniz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Armando Aleixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
