The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 7 played minutes SC Carude got a freekick which was hit by Mário Miranda. Carlos Fernandes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 7th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. SC Carude's Fábio Matias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Branco in the 10th minute of play. Fábio Matias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rafael Ferro kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vasco Brito in the 44th minute of play forced Murgido FC's goalkeeper Amílcar Assunção to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Murgido FC's zone, Armando Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílcar Assunção came out of the goal and Armando Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Vasco Brito made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafael Ferro during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Murgido FC's goalkeeper Amílcar Assunção, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Manuel Branco came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Murgido FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Branco couldn't finish the play. Vasco Fernandes kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. If Vasco Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute.
