After a defensive mix-up in Pocinhos FC's zone, Augusto Pinheiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mariano Lopes came out of the goal and Augusto Pinheiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Quintas's Óscar Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Mendes in the 31st minute of play. If João Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Pocinhos FC booed when SC Quintas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armindo Santarém didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute of the match Tiago Moutinho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Óscar Mota skillfully saved the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manuel Viana was the one to do the kick off. Hélder Guerreiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Óscar Mota made a huge save. Hélder Guerreiros short, quick shot in the 63rdth minute got Óscar Mota to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If João Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Óscar Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Pocinhos FC's Mariano Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Pinheiro in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Delfim Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Augusto Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
