In the 2nd minute, Alexandre Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Eduardo Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Samorinha FC's Lúcio Resende got control of the ball when Eduardo Oliveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Emanuel Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gil Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Jorge Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 17 played minutes SC Atalhada got a freekick which was hit by António Rodrigues. Jorge Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Emanuel Cabral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Pinheiro having to make a save. If Gil Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute Gil Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, SC Atalhada's goal looked a bit too open when Gil Mendes came free, but Jorge Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gil Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Jorge Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 37 played minutes SC Atalhada got a freekick which was hit by António Rodrigues. SC Atalhada's Jorge Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gil Mendes in the 39th minute of play. Emanuel Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alexandre Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 45th minute, David Borba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jorge Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gil Mendes to make the kick off. Emanuel Cabral in the 51stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jorge Pinheiro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lúcio Resende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Valente in the 54th minute of play. With a little luck, SC Atalhada's Jorge Pinheiro got control of the ball when Emanuel Cabral tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gil Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lúcio Resende showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Eduardo Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 68 played minutes Samorinha FC got a freekick which was hit by Duarte Dantas. Alexandre Valente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Resende having to interfere. 90 minutes into the game, Samorinha FC's Emanuel Cabral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jorge Pinheiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The Samorinha FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Samorinha FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
