After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Alberto Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Brunhedo's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Alves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Brito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lúcio Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lúcio Brito stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto Alves's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Alexandre Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasco Amorim in the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vasco Amorim in the 25th minute of play forced SC Brunhedo's goalkeeper Alexandre Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Alves in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Brito prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Arengosas FC's Raul Pinho got a free kick in the 28th minute. If Simão Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of SC Brunhedo booed when Arengosas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Esteves didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the match, SC Brunhedo's Alberto Alves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lúcio Brito narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luís Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Brito having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alberto Alves to make the kick off. Luís Nogueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 58 minutes into the game, Raul Pinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arengosas FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Brunhedo the free kick. In the 59th match minute, Arengosas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raul Pinho to maneuver through the defense. Vasco Amorim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alexandre Nascimento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Alexandre Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Ramos in the 67th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Dantas during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 69th match minute, Arengosas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Dantas to maneuver through the defense. Alexandre Nascimento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arengosas FC. In the 89thth minute of the game Joel Ramos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Brunhedo's Alexandre Nascimento was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Amadeu Nunes kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match.
