The audience thought a goal was coming when Basílio Teixeira got free with Inácio Miranda in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Luís Morais managed to get in a good position for a shot. Adelino Esteves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sérgio Pinheiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adelino Esteves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Basílio Teixeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 33rd minute, Joel Araújo fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Inácio Miranda, passed just outside the right post. Basílio Teixeira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Inácio Miranda made a huge save. Adelino Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Morais, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adelino Esteves came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Sanfins FC's Sérgio Pinheiro. But to his dismay, Sérgio Pinheiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Sérgio Pinheiro came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Sanfins FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sérgio Pinheiro couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Pala's Artur Nogueira got a free kick in the 47th minute.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Araújo was the one to do the kick off. Luís Moraiss short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Adelino Esteves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sérgio Pinheiro was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 58th minute. Sanfins FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Sérgio Pinheiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adelino Esteves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. After 82 minutes, Manuel Queirós mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sanfins FC and the Pala players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Pala booed when Sanfins FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Sanfins FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Araújo came free, but Inácio Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sanfins FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
