Joaquim Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Júlio Aleixo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Alexandre Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Júlio Aleixo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Piedosas FC's Alexandre Moura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Amorim in the 17th minute of play. A hard shot by Miguel Alves from long distance, 21 minutes into the match, got Rafael Marques's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Rafael Marques was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Cláudio Assunção capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cláudio Assunção really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Cardoso got free with Rafael Marques in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 34 minutes into the game, Eduardo Macedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Piedosas FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Malhadancha the free kick. After 34 played minutes Piedosas FC got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Macedo. Joaquim Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Alexandre Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Joaquim Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Júlio Aleixo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexandre Moura having to make a save. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cláudio Assunção stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xavier Queirós in the 58th minute of play forced SC Malhadancha's goalkeeper Rafael Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Cardoso in the 63rd minute of the match. Catarino Paredes charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Catarino Paredes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cláudio Assunção struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Rafael Marques didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piedosas FC. If Manuel Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of SC Malhadancha booed when Piedosas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 89 minutes of play, Piedosas FC's Manuel Cardoso made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rafael Marques was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Malhadancha players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Piedosas FC.
