In the 3rd minute, Xavier Pinheiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 4th minute, Eusébio Pinheiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rogério Torres during the 5th minute. Delfim Coelho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Inácio Nascimento. SC Montemuro's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 10th match minute, SC Montemuro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavier Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. Estremadouro FC's Augusto Pires proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Estremadouro FC from getting a goal against them. José Barbosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Augusto Pires. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Barbosa ran back to his position shaking his head. Augusto Pires was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mariano Leal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 31 minute of play. Mariano Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Augusto Pires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When José Barbosa came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the SC Montemuro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Barbosa couldn't finish the play. Augusto Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Leal in the 40th minute of the match. With a little luck, Estremadouro FC's Augusto Pires got control of the ball when Mariano Leal tried to sneak it across the goal line. José Barbosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Mariano Leal made the kick off in the second half. If Rogério Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Simão Gaspar fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Montemuro's protests and gave Simão Gaspar a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SC Montemuro getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Simão Gaspar hit a great ball. José Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Augusto Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Augusto Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Leal, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. A collision led to Estremadouro FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Cristiano Dias hit a great ball. Mariano Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Pires having to interfere. Rogério Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute Tomás Coimbra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inácio Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inácio Nascimento made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Rogério Torres sent off a good shot on target. Mariano Leal took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Augusto Pires. Augusto Pires dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SC Montemuro fully deserved thier win.
