After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Alexandre Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Alcafaz's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandre Pereira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristiano Alves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Alcafaz's goalkeeper Adelino Cardoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lourenço Cabral charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lourenço Cabral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Prados booed when SC Alcafaz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lourenço Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. António Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adelino Cardoso having to interfere. A collision led to SC Alcafaz getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. André Porto hit a great ball. Carlos Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Adelino Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandre Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the game, Artur Anjos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Prados's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Alcafaz the free kick. Bento Ferro, 43 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Prados's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandre Pereira came free, but Cristiano Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Luís Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Domingues made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Pereira in the 59th minute of play forced Prados's goalkeeper Cristiano Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th match minute, SC Alcafaz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fábio Paredes to maneuver through the defense. 61 minutes into the game, Carlos Domingues recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Adelino Cardoso. Carlos Domingues showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1.
