When Cristiano Borba fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Orelhudo FC's protests and gave Cristiano Borba a yellow card for diving instead. Cristiano Borba hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. The supporters of Alijo booed when Orelhudo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Oliveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Paiva's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 16thth minute, Alfredo Paiva skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 17 minutes into the match, Orelhudo FC's Bernardo Borges sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfredo Paiva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, Orelhudo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Moura came free, but Pedro Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bento Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nuno Magalhães during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nuno Magalhães hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Pedro Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bento Ribeiro in the 28th minute of the match. Heitor Vieira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pedro Sousa. Orelhudo FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bento Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Sousa having to interfere. Pedro Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After 42 played minutes Orelhudo FC got a freekick which was hit by Marco Oliveira. Ricardo Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Paiva having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bernardo Borges to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes in the game, Bento Ribeiro fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Pedro Sousa having to interfere. Pedro Sousa was a little too slow when Hugo Moura got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 1-2. Ricardo Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Alfredo Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 64 minutes, Hugo Moura managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alijo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugo Moura was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ricardo Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Alfredo Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raul Carneiro during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hugo Moura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Orelhudo FC's Pedro Sousa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Orelhudo FC from getting a goal against them. Alfredo Paiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Bento Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Sousa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hugo Moura's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. Orelhudo FC's Pedro Sousa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Orelhudo FC from getting a goal against them.
