In the 2nd minute, Daniel Guarda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 4th minute Manuel Viegas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nuno Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Viegas in the 7th minute of the match. In the 9th minute Paulo Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Gil Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gil Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Silva in the 15th minute of play. When SC Meijinhos's Paulo Silva in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Negreda's goalie prevented a goal. When David Costa fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Negreda's protests and gave David Costa a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Meijinhos booed when Negreda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute, António Carneiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Negreda fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Silva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 65th match minute, Negreda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Viegas to maneuver through the defense. Gil Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Dantas in the 67th minute of the match. Carlos Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Gil Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nuno Paiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Viegas, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Silva in the 91st minute of play forced Negreda's goalkeeper Gil Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Negreda had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
