To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Paiva in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henrique Brito saved Gueifar FC from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Moreira in the 12th managed to get into a good position. Henrique Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After having played for 15 minutes, Afonso Brás managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gueifar FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Brás was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Domingos Coelho came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Gueifar FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domingos Coelho couldn't finish the play. Domingos Coelho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Cândido Machado made a huge save. Manuel Paiva blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Henrique Brito having to make a save. Gueifar FC's Henrique Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Moreira in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute Manuel Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrique Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Domingos Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 31 minutes, Afonso Brás managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gueifar FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Brás was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henrique Brito stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Paiva's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Santulhao's Miguel Moreira got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manuel Paiva to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Gueifar FC got a freekick which was hit by André Matos. The supporters of Gueifar FC booed when Santulhao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Jesus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Afonso Brás fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cândido Machado having to interfere. Henrique Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Paiva in the 69th minute of the match. Miguel Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 82 minutes into the game, Manuel Paiva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Henrique Brito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 93 played minutes Santulhao got a freekick which was hit by David Santos. Fernando Morais hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Santulhao eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
