SC Ariciro's Rui Henriques proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save SC Ariciro from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the SC Ariciro defense, Rodrigo Freitas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rui Henriques. The SC Ariciro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rui Henriques should have stopped the shot. In the 34th match minute, Lourel FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armindo Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Lourel FC's Gonçalo Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bento Miranda in the 39th minute of play. Sérgio Paiva hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Rui Henriques made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodrigo Freitas in the 43rd minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

SC Ariciro's supporters rose to their feet, but Sérgio Paiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonçalo Pires breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sérgio Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Pires having to interfere. Rodrigo Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
