Augusto Tavares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Nuno Carneiro's late challenge caught a SC Meixide's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nuno Carneiro helped the player get up and apologised. After 20 played minutes Lourel FC got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Carneiro. SC Meixide's Joel Paiva shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 20th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gonçalo Pires but with some difficulty. Inácio Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Pires having to interfere. After 37 minutes, Inácio Baptista made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Lourel FC's Gonçalo Pires tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 43 played minutes SC Meixide got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Viegas. In the 44th minute Humberto Sá shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Xavier Silva hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. When Humberto Sá came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Lourel FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humberto Sá couldn't finish the play. 77 minutes into the game, Xavier Silva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Meixide's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lourel FC the free kick. Xavier Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Rodrigo Freitass short, quick shot in the 79thth minute got Augusto Tavares to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Humberto Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Tavares having to interfere. SC Meixide's Augusto Tavares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save SC Meixide from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in SC Meixide's zone, Humberto Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Tavares came out of the goal and Humberto Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Lourel FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lourel FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
