SC Remedios's Diamantino Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basílio Dantas in the 9th minute of play. SC Remedios's defense didn't have a chance, in the 13th minute, when Henrique Santarém scored to the left of an out of position Diamantino Rocha, making the score, 1-0. Nuno Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. José Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 26 played minutes Basílio Dantas rounded SC Remedios's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. Nuno Ribeiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Lima. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The wind increased when Nuno Ribeiro made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in SC Remedios's zone, Tomás Gaspar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diamantino Rocha came out of the goal and Tomás Gaspar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomás Gaspar might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diamantino Rocha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomás Gaspar ran back to his position shaking his head. Tomás Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cansino's José Lima proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Cansino from getting a goal against them. After 78 minutes of play, Cansino's Basílio Dantas made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Diamantino Rocha was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of SC Remedios booed when Cansino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. SC Remedios's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
