The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Humberto Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fábio Moniz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pedro Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspar Borges in the 14th minute of the match. Joel Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Vieira having to interfere. Gaspar Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Pedro Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fábio Moniz in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Simões saved Budens from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Dantas got free with João Vieira in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Humberto Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Gabrielos's João Vieira got control of the ball when Joel Dantas tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Joel Dantas came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Budens fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Dantas couldn't finish the play. João Vieira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Coelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Humberto Coelho made a kick off. After 51 minutes, Alberto Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gabrielos and the Budens players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 51st match minute, Gabrielos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Vale to maneuver through the defense. If Humberto Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gabrielos's João Vieira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Coelho in the 55th minute of play. Joel Dantas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Vieira having to make a save. João Vieira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel Dantas's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Gabrielos's zone, Joel Dantas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Vieira came out of the goal and Joel Dantas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Gaspar Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute Fábio Moniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduardo Borba hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Pedro Simões made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gaspar Borges in the 88th minute.
