With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Mendes in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albertino Reis saved Ceissa FC from getting behind. When Paulo Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Sudro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Mendes couldn't finish the play. Sudro's André Valente got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paulo Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Albertino Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cláudio Moutinho came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Ceissa FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cláudio Moutinho couldn't finish the play. Viriato Setúbal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Heitor Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xavier Porto charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Xavier Porto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sudro's Xavier Porto got a free kick in the 27th minute. After having played for 29 minutes, Rui Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ceissa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Paulo Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Sudro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Mendes couldn't finish the play. Albertino Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavier Porto in the 34th minute of play. Filipe Nogueira's late challenge caught a Ceissa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filipe Nogueira helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Sudro's Filipe Nogueira got a free kick in the 35th minute. Simão Brito struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Heitor Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ceissa FC. A collision led to Ceissa FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Paulo Bessa hit a great ball. José Pires, 41 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Rui Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulo Mendes made a kick off. When Xavier Porto was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. The supporters of Ceissa FC booed when Sudro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Porto didn't get a good kick on the ball. André Valente blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Albertino Reis having to make a save. When Paulo Mendes fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sudro's protests and gave Paulo Mendes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sudro getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Paulo Mendes hit a great ball. Heitor Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Cunha in the 74th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Paulo Bessa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ceissa FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Bessa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Heitor Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Heitor Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Setúbal in the 79th minute of the match.
