Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Paulo Ferreira's late challenge caught a Famalicao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Ferreira helped the player get up and apologised. 5 minutes in the game, Filipe Pedroso dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. When Filipe Pedroso came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Famalicao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filipe Pedroso couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Costa in the 9th minute of play forced SC Gestosa's goalkeeper Sérgio Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute, Cristiano Gueifão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Moutinho in the 12th minute of play. Miguel Moutinho was extremely unlucky when he, in the 16th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Cristiano Gueifão who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Daniel Branco when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sérgio Matos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filipe Pedroso's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Cristiano Gueifão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Daniel Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miguel Moutinho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Daniel Branco having to make a save. In the 43rd minute of the match Júlio Azevedo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sérgio Matos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Jorge Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Famalicao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jorge Costa took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sérgio Matos. Sérgio Matos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miguel Moutinho was the one to do the kick off. Fernando Sousa hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Daniel Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lúcio Sousa in the 57th minute of play. Cristiano Gueifão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristiano Gueifão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute, Cristiano Gueifão made a precise shot to the right of Daniel Branco. Famalicao's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Jorge Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sérgio Matos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filipe Pedroso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Gestosa's Sérgio Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filipe Pedroso in the 88th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Baptista during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jorge Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. In the 91st minute Famalicao were awarded a corner. Júlio Azevedo went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Júlio Azevedo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sérgio Matos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 93 minutes into the match, António Gonçalves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sérgio Matos. SC Gestosa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that António Gonçalves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2.
