When Delfim Vieira fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venestal's protests and gave Delfim Vieira a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Venestal getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Delfim Vieira hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio Jesus in the 38th minute of play forced Venestal's goalkeeper Manuel Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 39 minutes of play Venestal's Delfim Vieira was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 39th minute, Delfim Vieira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Inácio Jesus came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the SC Faioes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inácio Jesus couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Inácio Jesus to make the kick off. José Pinheiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Afonso Anjos firmly grabbed it by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomás Nogueira during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Faioes's Emílio Assunção got a free kick in the 59th minute. Manuel Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vítor Henriques in the 67th minute of the match. Jorge Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. With a little luck, SC Faioes's Afonso Anjos got control of the ball when José Pinheiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Inácio Jesus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Venestal's goalkeeper Manuel Ferreira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 83rd minute, Artur Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If José Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Pinheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Afonso Anjos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manuel Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Jesus in the 98th minute of the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
