Alberto Matias's late challenge caught a Brunhozinho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alberto Matias helped the player get up and apologised. Manuel Abreu, 7 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 12th minute, Amílcar Henriques got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastião Cunha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amílcar Henriques's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Cristiano Abreu hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After 21 played minutes SC Carocha got a freekick which was hit by Rui Assunção. João Sá blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sebastião Cunha having to make a save. Amílcar Henriques might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastião Cunha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amílcar Henriques ran back to his position shaking his head. If João Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Brunhozinho's Eusébio Guarda got a free kick in the 31st minute. SC Carocha's Jorge Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 34 played minutes Brunhozinho got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Monteiro. Jorge Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diamantino Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vítor Henriques, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 38 minutes in the game, Jorge Ramos fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Diamantino Ribeiro having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Amílcar Henriques managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brunhozinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Amílcar Henriques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastião Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amílcar Henriques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vítor Henriques during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee ignored Brunhozinho's protests and gave João Sá a yellow card for diving instead. The SC Carocha supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Brunhozinho's performance. The match ended with a win for Brunhozinho.
