In the 21st minute Rafael Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Rafael Carneiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alexandre Antunes was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Alexandre Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Carneiro in the 27th minute of the match. Emílio Porto hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in SC Cabecinhas's zone, Júlio Lisboa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Lisboa came out of the goal and Júlio Lisboa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the match, SC Coucoes's goalkeeper Alexandre Antunes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardo Matias. Adolfo Lisboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Lisboa in the 48th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Júlio Lisboa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Júlio Lisboa came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the SC Coucoes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júlio Lisboa couldn't finish the play.
