In the 7th minute Miguel Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the game, Luís Paiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Dornes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Carreirancha the free kick. In the 10th minute, one of SC Dornes:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Dornes. In the 11th minute there was a penalty for SC Carreirancha. António Domingues stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Afonso Vaz. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Ramos in the 17th minute of play forced SC Carreirancha's goalkeeper Bruno Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 17 played minutes SC Carreirancha got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Pereira. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisco Pereira during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of SC Dornes booed when SC Carreirancha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute of the match Marco Santos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bruno Baptista skillfully saved the ball. When José Vieira came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the SC Dornes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Vieira couldn't finish the play. Bruno Baptista made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when José Vieira sent off a good shot on target. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Dornes's goalkeeper Afonso Vaz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, SC Carreirancha's goalkeeper Bruno Baptista had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Vieira. Afonso Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. With a little luck, SC Carreirancha's Bruno Baptista got control of the ball when José Vieira tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Dornes's goalkeeper Afonso Vaz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedro Faro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Afonso Vaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonso Vaz came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Carreirancha's Carlos Nogueira. But to his dismay, Carlos Nogueira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Carlos Nogueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miguel Ramos was the one to do the kick off. 60 minutes into the game, José Vieira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Bruno Baptista was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Henrique Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the game, António Domingues was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Carreirancha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Dornes the free kick. In the 73rd minute, Miguel Ramos made a precise shot to the right of Bruno Baptista. SC Carreirancha's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Bruno Baptista came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Dornes's José Vieira. But to his dismay, José Vieira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. After 84 played minutes SC Dornes got a freekick which was hit by Cláudio Leal. Pedro Faro in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Afonso Vaz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Carlos Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Nogueira struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Afonso Vaz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Carreirancha. Miguel Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SC Dornes fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Carreirancha had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
