With an extended leg and a bit of luck António Matos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32nd minute, Carlos Carneiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Sá in the 34th minute of play forced Pardieiro FC's goalkeeper Américo Pereira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the game, SC Picarouba's Afonso Leão nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Américo Pereira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Amadeu Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Leão couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, SC Picarouba's Bento Soares got a free kick in the 84th minute. Pardieiro FC's Luís Tavares couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 85th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SC Picarouba. Afonso Leão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Américo Pereira made a huge save. Paulo Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Leão's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Américo Pereira firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Picarouba had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
