Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) SC Covas's Alexandre Macedo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Viriato Gaspar's late challenge caught a Peneda FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Viriato Gaspar helped the player get up and apologised. Viriato Gaspar hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. After 5 played minutes SC Covas got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Araújo. In the 7th minute, Raul Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hugo Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Viegas having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Abel Trindade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 17 minutes of play, SC Covas's Raul Nogueira made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emanuel Veiga was left in no man's land by his defense there! SC Covas's Alexandre Macedo got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nuno Viegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hugo Pereira in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nuno Viegas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Peneda FC booed when SC Covas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Trindade didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 33 minutes, Manuel Dias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peneda FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Dias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nuno Viegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Pereira in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Hugo Pereira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Nuno Viegas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Raul Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, Alexandre Macedo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emanuel Veiga. Peneda FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alexandre Macedo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

SC Covas's Nuno Viegas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save SC Covas from getting a goal against them. When SC Covas's Alexandre Macedo in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Peneda FC's goalie prevented a goal. If Manuel Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Abel Trindade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Américo Cruz fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Covas's protests and gave Américo Cruz a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 60th minute of the game. One of SC Covas:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Peneda FC:s goal. If Raul Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nuno Viegas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manuel Dias in the 71st minute. Peneda FC's Emanuel Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Macedo in the 74th minute of play. SC Covas's Nuno Viegas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save SC Covas from getting a goal against them. When Raul Nogueira came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the SC Covas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raul Nogueira couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Peneda FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Vítor Veiga hit a great ball. Alexandre Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of SC Covas booed when Peneda FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute of the match Viriato Gaspar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emanuel Veiga showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. SC Covas were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
