Eusébio Neto let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 6th minute shot 1-0 at rihgt post. Delfim Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Machado in the 10th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Aroeiras's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Eusébio Neto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 15th match minute, Aroeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cândido Costa to maneuver through the defense. Delfim Tavares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eusébio Neto went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Cândido Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Duarte Dantas having to make a save. Luís Amaral charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Amaral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to SC Hortas getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Luís Amaral hit a great ball. Tiago Amaral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Duarte Dantas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Tiago Amaral struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Duarte Dantas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aroeiras. In the 28th minute, Cândido Amorim made a precise shot to the right of Duarte Dantas. SC Hortas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Cândido Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duarte Dantas having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Aroeiras's Cândido Costa got a free kick in the 35th minute. Carlos Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Delfim Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Machado was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Carlos Machado managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Hortas's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Machado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Delfim Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Delfim Tavares came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Hortas's Eusébio Neto. But to his dismay, Eusébio Neto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. After having played for 60 minutes, Cândido Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aroeiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cândido Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tiago Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Machado couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tiago Amaral got free with Duarte Dantas in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Tiago Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Aroeiras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiago Amaral couldn't finish the play. 85 minutes into the match, SC Hortas's goalkeeper Duarte Dantas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tiago Amaral. Tiago Amarals short, quick shot in the 88thth minute got Duarte Dantas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. SC Hortas's Carlos Machado got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 98th minute, Carlos Machado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Hortas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Aroeiras players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Hortas.
