Minhais FC's Emanuel Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Pinheiro in the 15th minute of play. After 16 played minutes Minhais FC got a freekick which was hit by Cândido Santos. After 18 played minutes Pombalinho FC got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Bessa. Joel Pedroso struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Eusébio Domingues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Minhais FC. After a defensive mix-up in Pombalinho FC's zone, Gabriel Macedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Domingues came out of the goal and Gabriel Macedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eusébio Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Pedroso, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Gabriel Macedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eusébio Domingues. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriel Macedo ran back to his position shaking his head. Gabriel Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gabriel Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorge Pinheiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Gabriel Macedo came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Minhais FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Macedo couldn't finish the play. Gabriel Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Domingues having to interfere. In the 59th match minute, Pombalinho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Bessa to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Minhais FC's Pedro Correia got a free kick in the 67th minute. Ricardo Bessa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Emanuel Luz. Minhais FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Emanuel Luz came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Pombalinho FC's Luís Gueifão. But to his dismay, Luís Gueifão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Joel Pedroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pombalinho FC's Eusébio Domingues proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Pombalinho FC from getting a goal against them. After having played for 80 minutes, Gabriel Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Minhais FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel Macedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lucas Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Joel Pedroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Gueifão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emanuel Luz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. In the 95th minute, Jorge Pinheiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pombalinho FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Many of Minhais FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Minhais FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Pombalinho FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
