Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Redundo FC's Cristiano Gonçalves started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Joaquim Moutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 9th play minutes António Pires shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Abel Pereira and just under the crossbar into goal. SC Funcao's Sérgio Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Gonçalves in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute Cristiano Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristiano Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Queirós having to interfere. In the 18th minute, António Pires left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Funcao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Abel Pereira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. When Joaquim Moutinho came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the SC Funcao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Moutinho couldn't finish the play. The supporters of SC Funcao booed when Redundo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the game, António Pires cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Abel Pereira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. António Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling António Pires in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abel Pereira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Redundo FC's Lúcio Luz got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. António Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Abel Pereira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half SC Funcao were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell António Pires to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Redundo FC's goal looked a bit too open when António Pires came free, but Abel Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nuno Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Redundo FC's Jorge Teixeira got a free kick in the 58th minute. Joaquim Moutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Pereira having to interfere. After 64 played minutes Redundo FC got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Cardoso. When Joaquim Moutinho came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the SC Funcao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Moutinho couldn't finish the play. António Pires, 67 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Abel Pinto struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Abel Pereira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Funcao. António Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sérgio Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Gonçalves in the 82nd minute of play. Joaquim Moutinho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Abel Pereira having to make a save. SC Funcao's Joaquim Moutinho got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Funcao played a much better game than Redundo FC and deserved their victory. The Redundo FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
