Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Vítor Pereira started the match with the kick off. SC Funcao's Sérgio Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Pereira in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Funcao's goalkeeper Sérgio Queirós, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. José Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. The supporters of SC Alvorao booed when SC Funcao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaspar Assis didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Alvorao's Vítor Pereira got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. José Melo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joaquim Moutinho's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. A collision led to SC Funcao getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Gaspar Assis hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the game, Marco Nascimento was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Alvorao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Funcao the free kick. A collision led to SC Alvorao getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Marco Nascimento hit a great ball. José Melo had in the 30thth minute some difficulties stopping José Gaspar's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 30th minute, José Gaspar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Melo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for António Pires to strike the kick off in the second half. António Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. José Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 54 minutes, Abel Pinto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Funcao and the SC Alvorao players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Funcao's Abel Pinto got a free kick in the 54th minute. When Marco Nascimento came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the SC Alvorao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Nascimento couldn't finish the play. Sérgio Queirós came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Alvorao's António Moreira. But to his dismay, António Moreira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. António Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. José Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Melo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from António Pires in the 76th minute of the match. Abel Pinto struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. José Melo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Funcao. Vítor Pereira hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute, Joaquim Moutinho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Funcao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After a rather tough play, SC Funcao's Gaspar Assis got a free kick in the 89th minute. 91 minutes into the match, SC Funcao's goal looked a bit too open when António Moreira came free, but Sérgio Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd play minute Joaquim Moutinho came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised José Melo. 1-3. With his leg José Melo managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when SC Funcao's Joaquim Moutinho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
