With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abel Pereira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Hélder Bessa came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Guistola fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hélder Bessa couldn't finish the play. If Lúcio Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had been going on for 17 minutes, Redundo FC's Cristiano Setúbal got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Filipe Vaz. Filipe Vaz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorge Teixeira in the 21st minute. 24 minutes into the match, Guistola's Hélder Bessa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abel Pereira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rodrigo Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Abel Pereira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the game, Humberto Leão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Redundo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guistola the free kick. In the 33rd match minute, Redundo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Leão to maneuver through the defense. Abel Pereira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Soares in the 34th minute of play. Guistola's Filipe Vaz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Guistola from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Lúcio Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Redundo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lúcio Luz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filipe Vaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Redundo FC booed when Guistola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Cristiano Gonçalves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Filipe Vaz was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Lúcio Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Vaz having to interfere. If Rodrigo Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 61 minutes, Hélder Bessa made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Redundo FC's Abel Pereira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Filipe Vaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lúcio Luz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abel Pereira made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Rodrigo Soares sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodrigo Soares got free with Abel Pereira in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 95th minute of the match, Hélder Bessa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Abel Pereira saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Guistola had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
