An unexpectedly hard shot by André Vieira in the 16th minute of play forced Brejos's goalkeeper Lúcio Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. André Cardoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sebastião Nascimento's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. André Vieira struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sebastião Nascimento to make the kick off.
