Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Viriato Ramos got the match started through his kick off. Jorge Lima's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 5thth minute, Augusto Cardoso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Delfim Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Morais having to interfere. Delfim Cabral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 10th minute, Viriato Ramos fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Augusto Cardoso, passed just outside the right post. In the 13th match minute, Padronita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sérgio Branco to maneuver through the defense. After 14 played minutes, Hortas's Fernando Pires shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Augusto Cardoso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hortas reached it. Augusto Cardoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorge Lima in the 16th minute. A collision led to Hortas getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Cristóvão Luz hit a great ball. Delfim Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo Barros hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 36th match minute, Hortas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristóvão Luz to maneuver through the defense. Padronita's Sérgio Branco couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 37th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Hortas. In the 40th minute, Viriato Ramos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristóvão Luz struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Augusto Cardoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hortas. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Álvaro Antunes made the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 51st minute by Delfim Cabral got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Padronita's Álvaro Antunes in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hortas's goalie prevented a goal. After 57 played minutes, Padronita's Sérgio Branco shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Afonso Morais came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Padronita reached it. Afonso Morais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Padronita defense, Viriato Ramos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Augusto Cardoso. The Padronita fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Augusto Cardoso should have stopped the shot. After having played for 66 minutes, Álvaro Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Padronita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Álvaro Antunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 67 minutes, Alexandre Anjos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hortas and the Padronita players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 67 played minutes Hortas got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Anjos. Augusto Cardoso came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Hortas's Jorge Lima. But to his dismay, Jorge Lima quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Afonso Morais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute Viriato Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Padronita's Adolfo Sousa got a free kick in the 84th minute. Padronita's Augusto Cardoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Lima in the 89th minute of play. Padronita's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
