Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gaspar Sousa started the match with the kick off. If Humberto Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandre Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 9 minutes, Humberto Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arega FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Humberto Domingues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alexandre Almeida struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Paulo Gomes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arega FC. Humberto Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alexandre Almeida might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Gomes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexandre Almeida ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Arega FC's João Lisboa got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 18th match minute, Arega FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Costa to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the game, Gaspar Sousa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Sérgio Miranda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arega FC's Sérgio Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filipe Ferreira in the 27th minute of play. Filipe Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gaspar Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 35 played minutes, Arega FC's João Lisboa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paulo Gomes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Arega FC reached it. Humberto Domingues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Paulo Gomes made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gaspar Sousa in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sérgio Miranda saved Arega FC from getting behind. Alexandre Almeida struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Paulo Gomes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arega FC. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alexandre Almeida to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Alexandre Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Humberto Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Paulo Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Almeida in the 60th minute of play forced Vellas FC's goalkeeper Paulo Gomes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd match minute, Vellas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. Humberto Domingues blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Gomes having to make a save. The referee felt a red card was in order, 69 minutes into the game, when Vítor Neves put in a rough tackle. Arega FC's Sérgio Miranda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Arega FC from getting a goal against them. In the 81st minute, Manuel Amaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute of the match, Filipe Ferreira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sérgio Miranda was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, Arega FC's Luís Costa got a free kick in the 86th minute. 88 minutes into the game, Pedro Miranda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arega FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vellas FC the free kick. In the 88th match minute, Arega FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Miranda to maneuver through the defense. Vellas FC's Joaquim Martins couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 89th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Arega FC. Humberto Domingues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Vellas FC's Manuel Abreu got a free kick in the 97th minute. João Lisboa was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 98th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The supporters of Arega FC booed when Vellas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 101 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Matias didn't get a good kick on the ball.
