The audience thought a goal was coming when Amadeu Queirós got free with Filipe Brito in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Heitor Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Bruno Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Joaquim Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Ribeiro having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 42nd minute by Heitor Almeida got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Joaquim Martins struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Bruno Araújo might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Ribeiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bruno Araújo ran back to his position shaking his head. Carlos Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Martins in the 80th minute of play. In the 85th minute, Bruno Araújo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Carlos Ribeiro. The goal made the score 1-1. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
