After a defensive mix-up in Opeia's zone, Eusébio Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Lopes came out of the goal and Eusébio Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amílcar Cardoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diogo Freitas's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. When Vítor Ferro fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Opeia's protests and gave Vítor Ferro a yellow card for diving instead. 15 minutes into the match, Opeia's Simão Gonçalves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amílcar Cardoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Granjal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Diogo Freitas came free, but Amílcar Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the game, Heitor Vieira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Granjal FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Opeia the free kick. In the 25th match minute, Granjal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heitor Vieira to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Opeia getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Albertino Nascimento hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Heitor Vieira took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for André Lopes to make any attempt to save it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Heitor Vieira to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Opeia's goal looked a bit too open when Eusébio Cunha came free, but André Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th minute, Simão Gonçalves fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The supporters of Opeia booed when Granjal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonçalo Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Opeia's Simão Gonçalves in the 62nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Amílcar Cardoso was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Granjal FC through an amazing save. André Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio Cunha in the 71st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Diogo Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Opeia's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Freitas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amílcar Cardoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 77 minutes into the game, Xavier Ramos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Granjal FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Opeia the free kick. After a rather tough play, Granjal FC's Xavier Ramos got a free kick in the 77th minute. When Simão Gonçalves came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Opeia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simão Gonçalves couldn't finish the play. If Heitor Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Opeia's Albertino Nascimento got a free kick in the 83rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Eusébio Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Granjal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusébio Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Lopes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. André Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. André Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heitor Vieira in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Granjal FC's goalkeeper Amílcar Cardoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Gonçalves in the 94th minute of play forced Granjal FC's goalkeeper Amílcar Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Opeia's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
