In the 8th minute of the match Afonso Maia sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francisco Domingues skillfully saved the ball. When Joaquim Barbosa fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Conlelas FC's protests and gave Joaquim Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Conlelas FC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Joaquim Barbosa hit a great ball. Raul Correia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Francisco Domingues having to make a save. Raul Correia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Francisco Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Leal in the 29th minute of play forced Conlelas FC's goalkeeper Francisco Domingues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Raul Correia made a precise shot to the right of Francisco Domingues. Conlelas FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Conlelas FC's Armando Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Afonso Maia kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Vasco Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot. Conlelas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vasco Mota was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisco Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Armando Ribeiro was the one to do the kick off. After 54 minutes, Miguel Esteves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Requeixo FC and the Conlelas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Miguel Esteves hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Requeixo FC's Francisco Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Ribeiro in the 55th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Miguel Esteves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Francisco Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Leal in the 62nd minute of the match. After 65 minutes of play Conlelas FC's Joaquim Barbosa was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 65 played minutes Conlelas FC got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Barbosa. In the 70th minute, Vasco Mota got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If José Pacheco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd match minute, Requeixo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Esteves to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th minute, Vasco Mota got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Requeixo FC's Francisco Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vasco Mota in the 77th minute of play. Mário Veiga's late challenge caught a Requeixo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mário Veiga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 92nd minute, Mário Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Conlelas FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Requeixo FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Requeixo FC.
