After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, David Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Burnaria's supporters rose to their feet, but David Moreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernando Borba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eduardo Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Barros having to interfere. David Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in SC Freixiosa's zone, Álvaro Domingues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Borba came out of the goal and Álvaro Domingues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Burnaria's goalkeeper Pedro Barros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedro Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Carneiro in the 33rd minute of the match. When Álvaro Domingues came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Burnaria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Álvaro Domingues couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Burnaria booed when SC Freixiosa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Mendes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Álvaro Domingues to make the kick off. SC Freixiosa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 60th match minute, Burnaria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Veiga to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute of the match Burnaria got a corner. SC Freixiosa's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Coimbra ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Burnaria's corner Joel Coimbra fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fernando Borba quite easily take care of the ball. David Moreira might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Borba. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Moreira ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Burnaria's Pedro Barros got control of the ball when Eduardo Carneiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 79 minutes of play Burnaria's José Paiva was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of SC Freixiosa booed when Burnaria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Barros was a little too slow when Júlio Matos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 1-1. Álvaro Domingues might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Borba. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Álvaro Domingues ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Moreira in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernando Borba saved SC Freixiosa from getting behind. Burnaria were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
