Pedro Freitas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. In the 6th minute Cristóvão Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albertino Matias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristóvão Mendes was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 8th minute. SC Avantos's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Cristóvão Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henrique Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hugo Sousa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Freitas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Pedro Freitas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrique Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute of the game, SC Avantos got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. When Cristóvão Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the SC Avantos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristóvão Mendes couldn't finish the play. Albertino Matias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Lopes in the 35th minute of play. If Hugo Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Freitas having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SC Avantos's zone, Hugo Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Freitas came out of the goal and Hugo Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hugo Sousa was the one to do the kick off. After 53 played minutes SC Avantos got a freekick which was hit by João Monteiro. In the 54th minute, Henrique Reis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alexandre Lopes struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Albertino Matias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Avantos. Xavier Nascimento was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 60th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Alexandre Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Avantos's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandre Lopes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albertino Matias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Cristóvão Mendes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albertino Matias was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Cristóvão Mendes struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Albertino Matias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Avantos. The supporters of SC Avantos booed when Adecide FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albertino Matias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristóvão Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the match, SC Avantos's Cristóvão Mendes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Albertino Matias narrowly saved just below the crossbar. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amadeu Borba kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
