Ventusela's Sebastião Lima proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Ventusela from getting a goal against them. After having played for 27 minutes, Filipe Brás managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ventusela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filipe Brás was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Filipe Brás's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rui Faria was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. If Emílio Campos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Cabral kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Valduge's zone, Emílio Campos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The supporters of Ventusela booed when Valduge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valduge's Rui Faria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filipe Brás in the 48th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorge Vale stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
