Marinheiros's Sebastião Figueiredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Cardoso in the 15th minute of play. Diamantino Castro hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. The audience held their breath when Emílio Almeida in the 17th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Sebastião Figueiredo's left hand side. Joel Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. If Júlio Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Leiria kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Sebastião Figueiredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Martins in the 33rd minute of play. Danaia's David Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Figueiredo in the 35th minute of play. When Danaia's Manuel Cardoso in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Marinheiros's goalie prevented a goal. Danaia's Manuel Cardoso got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manuel Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Sebastião Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Danaia were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Marinheiros getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Afonso Cruz hit a great ball. Manuel Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Sebastião Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Moniz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Marinheiros getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Afonso Cruz hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Martins got free with Sebastião Figueiredo in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Manuel Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Marinheiros's Afonso Cruz got a free kick in the 71st minute. Afonso Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afonso Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The crowd rose to their feet as Danaia's Manuel Cardoso slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sebastião Figueiredo. That made the score 0-2 after 76 minutes of play. 82 minutes in the game, Manuel Cardoso fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Sebastião Figueiredo having to interfere. If Júlio Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, Danaia's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Figueiredo came free, but David Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Danaia's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
