Tiago Neves's late challenge caught a Lavacido's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiago Neves helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Lavacido booed when Azurem FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Azurem FC's Gil Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Azurem FC from getting a goal against them. Eusébio Lisboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Almeida having to interfere. If João Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. António Baptista hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Lavacido's Carlos Amaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Fontes in the 38th minute of play. If Eusébio Lisboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Almeida having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Ribeiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Manuel Fontes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Carlos Amaro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 65 played minutes Lavacido got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Santos. 66 minutes into the match, Lavacido's goalkeeper Carlos Amaro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manuel Fontes. Carlos Amaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. With a little luck, Lavacido's Carlos Amaro got control of the ball when Manuel Fontes tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Almeida in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gil Almeida saved Azurem FC from getting behind. Eusébio Lisboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Gil Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
