Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) SC Furacasas's Paulo Sousa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Paulo Sousa struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. José Leal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Furacasas. Filipe Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Diamantino Pereira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Furacasas's Diamantino Pereira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertino Campos in the 11th minute of play. Marco Carneiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Leal having to make a save. Paulo Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. José Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Furacasas's Marco Carneiro got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Jorge Santarém fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Areia's protests and gave Jorge Santarém a yellow card for diving instead. After 21 played minutes SC Areia got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Santarém. Filipe Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Furacasas's goalkeeper Diamantino Pereira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Adelino Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipe Amaral in the 40th minute of play forced SC Furacasas's goalkeeper Diamantino Pereira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco Carneiro got free with José Leal in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Resende in the 48th minute of play. The SC Furacasas players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Areia were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Albertino Campos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Filipe Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the SC Areia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filipe Amaral couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute, Miguel Resende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the match, SC Furacasas's goalkeeper Diamantino Pereira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Filipe Amaral. In the 73rd minute, Filipe Amaral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Albertino Campos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diamantino Pereira was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. A collision led to SC Areia getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Filipe Amaral hit a great ball. If Miguel Resende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Sousa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Leal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Miguel Resende's late challenge caught a SC Areia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miguel Resende helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of SC Areia booed when SC Furacasas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Resende didn't get a good kick on the ball. The SC Furacasas supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SC Areia's performance. The match ended with a win for SC Areia.
