The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Chocas FC booed when Freixial FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mário Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Jesus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Freixial FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. André Pires's late challenge caught a Freixial FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. André Pires helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Chocas FC's André Pires got a free kick in the 44th minute. 47 minutes into the game, Eusébio Almeida lined in a short shot 2-1 behind a frustrated Joaquim Santarém.

The wind increased when Mariano Anjos made the kick off in the second half. If Eusébio Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. Chocas FC's Joaquim Santarém played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emílio Leiria in the 59th minute of play. Joaquim Santarém showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emílio Leiria in the 65th minute of the match. Mariano Anjos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Jesus having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mário Macedo during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
