Mário Macedo's late challenge caught a Pinhovelo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mário Macedo helped the player get up and apologised. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Luz got free with Jorge Jesus in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Francisco Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Luz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Jorge Jesus made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Xavier Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pinhovelo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Xavier Nunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Jesus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emílio Leirias short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Gaspar Bessa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusébio Almeida in the 81st minute of play forced Pinhovelo FC's goalkeeper Gaspar Bessa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Emílio Leiria came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Freixial FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emílio Leiria couldn't finish the play. Pinhovelo FC's Gaspar Bessa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Pinhovelo FC from getting a goal against them. 86 minutes into the match, Pinhovelo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eusébio Almeida came free, but Gaspar Bessa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Araújo charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Araújo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 87 played minutes Pinhovelo FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Araújo. Gaspar Bessa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusébio Almeida in the 90th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Pinhovelo FC's zone, Emílio Leiria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaspar Bessa came out of the goal and Emílio Leiria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
