The audience was convinced that Joaquim Correia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sebastião Jesus was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Jorge Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Garcia in the 13th minute of the match. Abel Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorge Neto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abel Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. Gabriel Gonçalves hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Humberto Moreira charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Humberto Moreira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Papizios FC booed when Vinhal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lúcio Barbosa lost his temper 33 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 32 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vinhal FC! Jaime Soares shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Carlos Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastião Jesus having to interfere. Jorge Martins hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. When Joaquim Correia came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Papizios FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Correia couldn't finish the play. When Gabriel Gonçalves came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Vinhal FC fans jumped to their feet. With his leg Sebastião Jesus managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Papizios FC's Carlos Magalhães fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Magalhães got free with Sebastião Jesus in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 71 played minutes Vinhal FC got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Pinto. Sebastião Jesus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Correia, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. During the 74th minute of the match Jorge Martins completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jorge Martins a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Papizios FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Jorge Martins hit a great ball. In the 75th minute of the match Humberto Moreira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jorge Neto skillfully saved the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Papizios FC's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Santos came free, but Jorge Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Magalhães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Filipe Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Magalhães was extremely unlucky when he, in the 95th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
